Lidl have brought in a lovely little range of Italian wines for their spring season. One of the best is the little-known Zizibbo, remember it just for its fun name! A little-known grape from Sicily, one of the oldest’s in the world, originally from Egypt, and brought to the Italian isles. It’s exotic, it’s aromatic, it’s enticing….
Wafts of orange blossom, and ripe nectarine and apricot fruit lead to delicious flavours of mediterranean fruits, pomelo, oranges, sprinkled with wild herbs and a hint of rosemary. Glossy, yet zesty, enjoy its fruitiness with middle eastern cuisine, with its sweet spices, or try it with pan-fried sea bass with deeply flavoured ratatouille.
